Citizens in Uniform - or Uniform without Citizens?
The Bundeswehr is a parliamentary army. The "corporate philosophy" of the Bundeswehr includes "Innere Führung", as the BMVg states on its website:
"All soldiers in the Bundeswehr are citizens in uniform. This not only means that basic rights also apply to them. (…) The Bundeswehr does not recognize unconditional obedience. The final decision-making authority remains the conscience of each individual"
The documentary presents the difficult decisions faced by three soldiers after the vaccination against Covid-19 became mandatory in the Bundeswehr on 24.11.2021, resulting in severe illness or imprisonment. Experts, including a lawyer, a doctor, a politician and a biologist give their assessments.
